SUNDAY 24th August
Flintham 7 miles
Maggie led 22 members on this popular walk. The route visited Syerston, Coneygrey Spinney and Flintham Hall park. There were good views of the Hall, which is an impressive, listed building, rebuilt in 1798 in the Georgian style. It is privately owned by the Hildyard family.

WEDNESDAY 27th August
Down by the Riverside 6 miles
Dave left this report: “Fine weather greeted walkers at Fiskerton Riverside for a relaxing walk around this lovely area. Parking impact was minimised thanks to those who arrived via public transport or car shared. The route followed the Trent upstream to Hazelford Weir, where a drinks break was enjoyed. We then crossed fields to the delightful village of Morton where we visited the village pinfold. From here we returned to Fiskerton and took lunch on the Green. Some of us then enjoyed the optional add-on to Rolleston and return to Fiskerton. Thanks to Caroline for leading a well-planned walk and scaring the rain off until we were safely home!”

Belton Estate and Barkston 9.4 miles
Thanks to Peter for organising this walk. It was led by John Beirne from National Trust who was able to inform the group of the History, Flora and Fauna of the area. The circular walk took in some fantastic vistas across Belton and Grantham. Taking the bridal path next to Syston Hall, which was the home of Sir John Thorold and the home of Britain's first motor race circuit. The route took them up Whipperstall Hill via Green Lane, through Gashouse Plantation and past South Lodge. Then towards Barkston Airfield, a former WW2 bomber airfield before heading down to Barkston Village. Walking along the River Witham and then heading up to Peascliff Tunnel before returning to Belton Estate via Belton Hotel.
