This page gives you a search facility to find the ordnance survey map of a particular area and to plot your own walking route.

The map will initially appear as an open street map. If you want to use the ordnance map, zoom in to the location you want or do a search using the Map Tools icon, then alter map using icon at top right.

The Map Tools ikon is represented by a crossed spanner and hammer which you will find on the left-hand side of the map. This gives multiple possible actions including a search option, My location, options to control the display of information when you right click the map and If you are using the Plot a walking route option then it also allows you to change the route line style. Further information can be found by clicking the question mark which will take you to a help site

The My location option will try and display your actual location, its accuracy will depend on whether your device has a GPS and it is enabled.  

To find location details

On PC or laptop the grid ref is usually displayed in the bottom left hand corner of the map. A right click with mouse at the location will give further information.

On a Tablet, hold your finger on the location until a detail box appears.
