Pleasley Park 8 miles
Anne led a small group including visitors on this circular walk through Pleasley Vale. They saw the industrial heritage of Pleasley Mills; the surprising geology of Little Matlock and the picturesque woodland of Pleasley Park. There was a climb to get to the woodland where spring flowers were in bloom.

WEDNESDAY 6th May
The Lincolnshire Ridge 5.5 miles
Pauline led this beautiful walk from Navenby which takes in the old Roman Road (now a grassy track), two attractive villages, some very quiet roads, an amazing view from the ridge. There were no hills to climb and no stiles, the paths were clear and dry.

Orston 5 miles
Maggie led this circular walk from Orston. They walked beside the River Smite and visited the villages of Aslockton (famous for its connection with Thomas Cranmer) and Whatton-in-the Vale.

Bilsthorpe Eakring 7.2 miles
This figure of eight route was a slight variation of the walk last year. It was led by Roger initially uphill along Bungalow Lane Bilsthorpe into Eakring Brail Wood. Several trees had come down in the high winds since the recce causing some alteration to the route and some climbing over the fallen trunks. The bluebells were just coming to an end though still carpeted the woodland in blue. The route continued through the wind farm and up a steepish hill past the Eco Houses. Then a circuit of Eakring before the lunch stop in the children's playground. After lunch the return was uphill out of Eakring passing through Brail Wood once more back to the start point.

WEDNESDAY 13th May
Not the best of weather forecasts for the walks today. Heavy showers and thunderstorms. Fortunately, it was not as bad as predicted and both walks escaped without getting too wet!
Harby 6.5 miles
This walk led by Jan started from the Nottinghamshire village of Harby and crossed into Lincolnshire. It was fairly flat and along good paths through open countryside and a wooded area. There were no stiles.

Another Thurgarton Bus Walk 6 miles
Mal and Roger took a small group on the 26 bus from Southwell to Thurgarton. We then took a leisurely walk across open countryside to Halloughton. The route went behind Thurgarton Abbey and down to the old sheep dip. An ideal stop for coffee. We passed some chatty pupils from Toot Hill school Bingham walking the other way on a practise for their D of E silver. The route continued to the pretty village of Halloughton finally reaching Brackenhurst Gardens in a heavy rain shower. A dry lunch was fortunately enabled by the friendly operators of the college café who allowed us inside. A short downhill then back to the Car Park
