WEDNESDAY 20th May

Southwell Maythorne 6.3 miles

Well done Pauline for leading this your first walk as a leader. A pleasant, easy walk round the outskirts of the lovely town of Southwell. They started at the long stay car park at the rear of Southwell leisure centre and headed first towards Westhorpe. The route continued across Norwood Park and down into Maythorne. The return was along the river Greet and then past the Minster before stopping in the Bishop's Palace gardens for lunch.

SUNDAY 24th May

Rother Valley Country Park 7 miles

David led this lovely circular walk taking in parts of the country park and surrounding area. The walk is mainly on level ground, but lovely views were available when height was gained.

Located a short drive from junction 31 of the M1 motorway lies this beautiful park, offering abundant activities. Situated around three large lakes there are a variety of water sports and recreational activities, The majority of the park is on land that was open cast for coal, with the main excavation sites filled by the artificial lakes.
